     Isaac Goddard Jr. was born in 1778 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 He was the son of Isaac Goddard and Rosanna Holcombe. Isaac Goddard Jr. married Abagail Moore. Isaac Goddard Jr. died on 11 January 1852 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2

Isaac and Abigail were enumerated in the 1850 Granby, Hartford Co., CT census. He was a farmer, age 72, Abigail was also 72. Linus age 40, Lavilla age 50, Laura Reed age 37, Henry C. Reed age 31, a 4 month-old female Reed, and Julia Godard, age 36, were also in the household.

     Abagail Moore was born in 1776.¹ She married Isaac Goddard Jr., son of Isaac Goddard and Rosanna Holcombe. Abagail Moore died in 1853.¹

     Henry Chester Reed was born in 1821.¹ He was the son of Nelson Reed and Theodocia Holcombe. Henry Chester Reed married Laura J. Goddard, daughter of Isaac Goddard Jr. and Abagail Moore. Henry Chester Reed died in 1901.¹

     Laura J. Goddard was born in 1812. She was the daughter of Isaac Goddard Jr. and Abagail Moore. Laura J. Goddard married Henry Chester Reed, son of Nelson Reed and Theodocia Holcombe. Laura J. Goddard died in 1901.

     Julia Cornelia Reed was born in 1850.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Chester Reed and Laura J. Goddard. Julia Cornelia Reed died in 1940.¹

     Edward N. Reed was born in 1854.¹ He was the son of Henry Chester Reed and Laura J. Goddard. Edward N. Reed died in 1862.¹

     Helen Augusta Holcombe was born on 5 May 1845 at West Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 She was the daughter of Anson Noadiah Holcombe and Harriet Maria Street. Helen Augusta Holcombe married Alton Holcomb Fancher, son of Sherman Fancher and Caroline Holcombe, on 8 June 1868. Helen Augusta Holcombe died on 1 January 1911 at age 65.^3,4 She was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT; II-144.^3,2

     Alton Holcomb Fancher was born on 14 January 1844.¹ He was the son of Sherman Fancher and Caroline Holcombe. Alton Holcomb Fancher married Helen Augusta Holcombe, daughter of Anson Noadiah Holcombe and Harriet Maria Street, on 8 June 1868. Alton Holcomb Fancher died on 28 August 1894 at age 50.¹ He was buried at Granby Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Sherman Fancher was born circa 1817; based on age at death. He married Caroline Holcombe, daughter of Bidwell Holcombe and Hannah Buttolph. Sherman Fancher died on 17 April 1902 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 He was buried at Granby Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Alton Holcomb Fancher Jr. was born on 9 April 1870.² He was the son of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe. Alton Holcomb Fancher Jr. married M. Mary Graves on 16 November 1892. Alton Holcomb Fancher Jr. died on 15 May 1938 at age 68.²

Alton H. was enumerated in the 1880 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, census, age 10 in the household of his uncle, Edward Holcombe.

     Helen Winifred Fancher was born on 30 October 1873.¹ She was the daughter of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe. Helen Winifred Fancher died on 9 May 1962 at age 88.¹

     Alice Estelle Fancher was born on 15 November 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe. Alice Estelle Fancher married Arthur Thomas Riggs on 22 October 1902. Alice Estelle Fancher died on 23 December 1969 at age 92.¹

     Maurice Martin Fancher was born on 20 June 1881.¹ He was the son of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe. Maurice Martin Fancher died on 17 July 1920 at age 39.¹

     M. Mary Graves was born on 7 October 1871.¹ She married Alton Holcomb Fancher Jr., son of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe, on 16 November 1892. M. Mary Graves died on 25 May 1956 at age 84.¹

     Arthur Thomas Riggs was born on 29 June 1876.¹ He married Alice Estelle Fancher, daughter of Alton Holcomb Fancher and Helen Augusta Holcombe, on 22 October 1902. Arthur Thomas Riggs died on 25 February 1949 at age 72.¹

     Child Riggs died on 14 December 1913.¹ He was born on 14 December 1913.¹ He was the son of Arthur Thomas Riggs and Alice Estelle Fancher.

     Carrie E. Fancher was born in 1859.¹ She was the daughter of Sherman Fancher and Caroline Holcombe. Carrie E. Fancher died in 1935.¹

     J. Murray Fancher was born circa 1848; based on age at death. He was the son of Sherman Fancher and Caroline Holcombe. J. Murray Fancher died on 25 November 1856.¹

     Marshall O. Lee was born circa 1827; based on age at death. He was the son of Oren H. Lee and Susannah Holcombe. Marshall O. Lee died on 23 December 1848.¹

     Shrigley S. Viets was born circa 1834; based on age at death. He was the son of Simeon Smith Viets Jr. and Betsey Holcombe. Shrigley S. Viets died in 1862. He was buried on 29 June 1862 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Thaddeus Viets was born circa 1840. He was the son of Simeon Smith Viets Jr. and Betsey Holcombe. Thaddeus Viets died on 11 February 1841.¹

     Child Holcombe was the son of Chauncey Holcombe and Samantha Goddard. Child Holcombe died on 20 September 1840.¹

     Ridout Moore was baptized on 25 May 1766 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Jonah Moore and Mary Ridout.² Ridout Moore married Vashti Holcombe, daughter of Joshua P. Holcombe and Sarah Smith, on 15 July 1821.

     Judah Hayes was born on 3 January 1730.¹ He was the son of William Hayes and Joanna Lee.¹

     Harvey Alderman was born on 22 April 1792 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes. Harvey Alderman married Sally Holcombe, daughter of Asahel Holcombe III and Patty (Martha) Flagg, on 19 January 1813.² Harvey Alderman died on 30 July 1875 at age 83.²

At one time Harvey represented his district in the State Legislature and in politics he was a Whig, later becoming a Democrat. By occupation he was a farmer, as were his sons. He was a member of the Episcopal Church but his children became adherents of the Episcopal, Methodist and Congregational churches.³

Harvey and Polly were enumerated in the 1850 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was 57, she was 56. Children in the household were Allen, 23, Esther 17, Brainard 12, Ellen 9, and father Epaphras 90.

     Sally Holcombe was born on 16 July 1796. She was the daughter of Asahel Holcombe III and Patty (Martha) Flagg. Sally Holcombe was baptized on 1 August 1797 at East Granby Church, East Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She married Harvey Alderman, son of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes, on 19 January 1813.¹ Sally Holcombe died on 27 December 1886 at age 90. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Mary A. Alderman was born on 20 August 1813 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe. Mary A. Alderman died on 15 May 1884 at age 70; unmarried.²

     Virginia Isabelle Hooks was born on 22 March 1904 at AL. She was the daughter of Robert David Hooks Sr. and Isabelle Cecile Slade. Virginia Isabelle Hooks married Theodore Jackson Bender, son of Thomas Benton Bender and Mittie Cotton, on 9 April 1934 at Mobile Co., AL. Virginia Isabelle Hooks died on 16 January 1971 at Mobile, Mobile Co., AL, at age 66. She was buried on 18 January 1971 at Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, Mobile Co., AL.¹

     Mary Hillyer was born on 25 April 1717 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Hillyer II and Joanna Hayes.² Mary Hillyer died on 16 October 1807 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 90.²

     Clarissa Gillett was born at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Adna Gillett and Mary Reeves.¹ Clarissa Gillett married Joseph Hayes, son of Samuel Hayes Jr. and Rosanna Holcombe, on 12 February 1817 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Seth Hayes Jr. was born on 23 March 1788.^1,2 He was the son of Seth Hayes and Mehitable Topping.³ Seth Hayes Jr. married Eunice Hoskins, daughter of Alson Hoskins and Eunice Thompson, on 5 September 1811 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.⁴ Seth Hayes Jr. died on 11 November 1821 at age 33.¹

     Seth and Eunice had three children that all died in infancy. Eunice Hoskins was born in January 1789 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Alson Hoskins and Eunice Thompson.¹ Eunice Hoskins married Seth Hayes Jr., son of Seth Hayes and Mehitable Topping, on 5 September 1811 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Eunice Hoskins died on 22 May 1836 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 47.¹

     Rachel Warner married Deacon Elnathan Strong, son of Capt. Joseph Strong Jr. and Elizabeth Strong. Rachel Warner died on 9 October 1786.¹

     Joseph Dewey was born circa 1794. He was the son of David Dewey and Lovina Holcombe. Joseph Dewey died on 19 January 1815.¹

     Lovina Dewey was born in 1782. She was the daughter of David Dewey and Lovina Holcombe. Lovina Dewey died on 20 January 1813.¹

     Deborah Dewey was born circa 1785. She was the daughter of David Dewey and Lovina Holcombe. Deborah Dewey died on 11 November 1811.¹

     Linda Gladys Messenger was born on 25 February 1911. She was the daughter of Charles Edwin Messenger and Carolyn M. Luther. Linda Gladys Messenger married Charles L. Cooley Sr. on 20 November 1928 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Linda Gladys Messenger died on 12 October 1997 at Bloomfield, Hartford Co., CT, at age 86. Courant obituary July 14, 1999, page 7A.

     Charles L. Cooley Sr. was born in 1907.¹ He married Linda Gladys Messenger, daughter of Charles Edwin Messenger and Carolyn M. Luther, on 20 November 1928 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Charles L. Cooley Sr. died in 1975.²
