He was buried on 5 April 1934 at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

Charles and Selina were enumerated in the 1880 Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, federal census. He was a farmer, age 37, she was 33. The only child in the household was Loella, 12.

Charles F. and Louisa J. were enumerated in the 1900 Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, federal census. He was 56, she was 43. Children in the household were neice Pear Waters 12, and nephew Clyde Waters 8.

Charles F. and Louisa J. were enumerated in the 1910 Munroe, Muskingum Co., OH, federal census. He was a farmer, age 65, she was 53. There were no children in the household. Louisa had not had any children.

Charles F. and Louise J. were enumerated in the 1920 Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, federal census. He was 75, she was 60. There were no children in the household.

Charles F. and Louisa J. were enumerated in the 1930 Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, fedral census. He was 85, she was 72. Also in the household was Decatur A. Waters, 66.

This obituary appeared in the Adamsville Register 10 April 1934:

Charles H Holcomb 90, Civil War veteran and life-long resident of Otsego, died at his home there Tuesday afternoon, April 3, following a long illness from infirmities. Mr Holcomb was one of the best known residents of Monroe Township, where he had been a highly respected citizen the greater part of his life. He was also the last Civil War Veteran of the Township. One member of the John Trimble Post GAR of Otsego remains, W R Buker who resides with his son W O Buker east of Adamsville and is a resident of Salem Township. In early life Mr Holcomb was united in marriage with Miss Selene Bainter who preceded him in death many years ago. A daughter, who was the wife of D A Waters of Otsego is also deceased. Mr Holcomb was again married choosing Miss Louisa Waters of Otsego for his second wife, who with a brother William Holcomb of Zearing, Iowa, survive. He is also survived by one grandson and four great grandchildren. He was a life-long member of the New Hope Lutheran Church east of Adamsville. Funeral services were held at the Otsego MP Church on Thursday, conducted by Rev Paul Thompson pastor of the church, assisted by Rev N D Cunningham, pastor of the Otsego Baptist Church and Rev Dale C Recker, pastor of the New Hope Lutheran Church. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
