     Silas Fyler was also known as Silas Filer. He was born in 1710.¹ He was the son of Zerubabel Fyler and Rachel Gillett.¹ Silas Fyler married Catherine Drake, daughter of Jacob Drake and Catherine Porter, on 10 September 1747.¹

     Jane Fyler was born on 3 December 1753.¹ She was the daughter of Silas Fyler and Catherine Drake.¹ Jane Fyler married Ephraim Loomis, son of Ephraim Loomis and Jane Campbell, on 30 October 1783; (Loomis says 1784.)^1,2 Jane Fyler died on 30 March 1789 at age 35.¹

     Zerubabel Fyler married Rachel Gillett.

     Ephraim Loomis was born on 28 February 1789 at Torrington, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Ephraim Loomis and Jane Fyler.¹ Ephraim Loomis died; at age 4 weeks.¹

     Reuben Loomis was born on 9 October 1785 at Torrington, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Ephraim Loomis and Jane Fyler.¹

"Cheeney Burpee" and Susan were enumerated in the 1850 Lewis, Essex Co., NY, federal census. He was a farmer age 58, she was 53. Children in the household were Obed H. 25, Maria 22, James L. 19, and Juliett 17.

     Cheney Burphey was also known as Cheeney Burpee.² He was born circa 1791 at MA.^1,2 He married Susan Holcombe, daughter of Obed Holcombe and (?) Hayes.¹

     Obed H. Burphey was born circa 1824.¹ He was the son of Cheney Burphey and Susan Holcombe.¹

     Maria Burphey was born circa 1827.¹ She was the daughter of Cheney Burphey and Susan Holcombe.¹

     James L. Burphey was born circa 1830.¹ He was the son of Cheney Burphey and Susan Holcombe.¹

     Juliett Burphey was born circa 1832.¹ She was the daughter of Cheney Burphey and Susan Holcombe.¹

     Emely Holcombe was born circa 1798.^1,2 She was the daughter of Obed Holcombe and (?) Hayes.¹ Emely Holcombe married Lyman Burphey.¹

Lyman "Burpee" and Emma were enumerated in the 1850 Lewis, Essex Co., NY, federal census next to Cheeney. They were both 51. Children in the household were Lorenzo 28, Eudvcia 18, and Lyman L. 8.

Luman and Emma were enumerated in the 1860 Lewis, Essex Co., NY, federal census. He was a farmer age 61, she was 60. Children in the household were Lorenzo 38, Lyman 18, Eudvcia (?) 20, Elanor (14, or 34 ?), Ella 4, and Kate 2. It seems unlikely that the younger ones were children of Luman and Emma.

     Hannah Holcombe was born circa 1808.^1,2 She was the daughter of Obed Holcombe and (?) Hayes.¹ Hannah Holcombe married Erastus Bristol.^2,1

"Dorastus" and Hannah were enumerated in the 1850 Lewis, Essex Co., NY, federal census. He was 50, she was 41. Children in the household were Alvira 21, Isaac 19, Chloe 12, Rosalie 10, and Harriet 6. They were enumerated near Cheeney Burpee and other family members.

"Irastus" and Hannah were enumerated in the 1860 Lewis, Essex Co., NY, federal census. He was a farmer, age 60, she was 57. Children in the household were Rosalie 20, Harriet 16, and a John Burpee 15.

     Erastus Bristol was born circa 1799.¹ He married Hannah Holcombe, daughter of Obed Holcombe and (?) Hayes.^1,2

     Electa Mariah Holcombe was born in 1810 at Lewis, Essex Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of Obed Holcombe and (?) Hayes.¹ Electa Mariah Holcombe died on 16 July 1842 at Lewis, Essex Co., NY.² She was buried at Lewis Cemetery, Lewis, Essex Co., NY.²

     Harriet N. Holcombe was born circa February 1820.¹ She was the daughter of Obed Holcombe and Elizabeth (?)¹ Harriet N. Holcombe died on 12 July 1849.

     Levater Kyle was born in 1840.¹ He was the son of Ephraim Kyle and Caroline Holcombe.¹

     Bertha Kyle was born in 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Ephraim Kyle and Caroline Holcombe.¹

     Amanda (?) married Benjamin Franklin Holcombe, son of Ishmael Hardy Holcombe and Hannah Knowlton.¹

     James Henry Holcombe was born on 24 September 1818 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Harry Holcombe and Polly Birge Hayes.¹ James Henry Holcombe married Mary McClintock.¹

McPherson and Seaver disagree on this James Henry Holcombe. Thomas Koch and other genealogists consulted seem to agree that Seaver is correct. McPherson has confused James Henry Holcombe, son of Harry, with James, brother of Harry.

     George Phelps Holcombe was born on 7 June 1820 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Harry Holcombe and Polly Birge Hayes.¹ George Phelps Holcombe married Mary Demming.

     Caroline Holcombe was born on 27 September 1822 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harry Holcombe and Polly Birge Hayes.¹ Caroline Holcombe married Samuel P. Officer.¹

Samuel and Caroline were enumerated in the 1850 Logan, Hocking Co., OH, federal census. He was a bank cashier, age 30, she was 27. The only child in the household was Harry H. 1. Also in the household was Caroline's Aunt Julia Holcomb, 45.

     Mary McClintock married James Henry Holcombe, son of Harry Holcombe and Polly Birge Hayes.¹

     Herman Holcombe was born in March 1830 at Tioga Co., PA.^1,2 He was the son of James Holcombe and Martha McClintock.³ Herman Holcombe married Nancy L. (?) circa 1852.² Herman Holcombe died in 1913 at San Diego, San Diego Co., CA.¹

Herman served in the 2nd Neb. Cav. in Minn. and Dak. against Indians. ⁴

Herman and Nancy L. were enumerated in the 1880 Lincoln Center, Lincoln Co., KS, federal census. He was a hardware dealer age 50, she was 47. Children in the household were Hester R. 15, Anna C. 13, Julia N. 11, and nephew James Holcomb 12. All of the children were born in Nebraska.

Herman and Nancy L. were enumerated in the 1900 District 200, San Diego Ward 8, San Diego Co., CA, federal census. He was 70, she was 67. There were no children in the household.

Herman and Nancy L. were enumerated in the 1910 District 160, 8-Wd San Diego, San Diego Co., CA, federal census. He was 80, married once for 57 years; She was 77, married once for 57 years; she had 5 children 4 of whom were still living.

     Mary Louisa Holcombe was born circa 1833 at Tioga Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of James Holcombe and Martha McClintock.²

     James Holcombe II was born circa 1836 at OH.¹ He was the son of James Holcombe and Martha McClintock.² James Holcombe II died at Annapolis, MD.¹
